INTELLIGENCE CAN BE SHAPED AFTER BIRTH
We believe that a child can grow up to be bright, independent of his parents’ intelligence levels. We also believe that children who are born bright can sustain or exceed that intelligence, when their life experiences support it.
THE MAJORITY OF THE BRAIN’S WIRING OCCURS IN FIRST FEW YEARS OF LIFE
Neuroscience has proven that learning begins long before kindergarten. We believe that a child is learning all the time—every waking hour of every day. We also believe that young children learn best through verbal and physical interactions with parents and caregivers.
THE BRAIN’S GROWTH CAN CHANGE DEPENDING ON HOW IT IS USED.
Which connections are formed and which connections are ultimately retained are initially shaped by one’s early experiences. We believe that we have the power to influence some of the “roads” (neural pathways) that are created inside of our children’s brains.
EARLY BRAIN WIRING IS RESISTANT TO CHANGE LATER IN LIFE.
We believe that this is good and bad news for all of us. The good news is that the effects of a strong emotional start to life are likely to persist. If a child has a strong emotional start, he is likely to be resilient and able to cope with stress later in life. The bad news, however, is that the reverse is also true. If children live in chaotic, non-supportive environments, they become less resilient and less able to confidently solve problems. This lasts a lifetime.
THE BEST EDUCATOR AND INFLUENCER IS YOU.
This is the mother of all of our beliefs and the underpinning of our educational philosophy. Educational development starts with the parent, and there is no alternative method that replaces the brain stimulation and development that takes place during the one-on-one interactive play that occurs between a parent and child.
