What You’ll Need:

• A pencil
• Clear tape
• White paper
• A grown-up to help

Steps:

1. Ask a grown-up to help you shade a small area on the paper with the pencil. Make it nice and dark!
2. Press your finger onto the pencil shading. Your finger will get a little dirty, but that’s okay!
3. Take a piece of clear tape and press it onto your finger.
4. Carefully peel off the tape – your fingerprint should stick to it!
5. Place the tape on a clean piece of white paper.

Wow! Now you can see your unique fingerprint pattern! Try this with different fingers and see if they all look the same. If you have a brother, sister, or friend nearby, compare your fingerprints. They’ll be completely different!
